Assignment 2 ( Greetings Card )

For this second assignment, I was thinking to do a greeting c
ard for the next holiday; which is Christmas! Why? Simple. The holiday is just around the corner. Hohoho..

IDEATION

For this assignment 2, I wanted to do a Christmas greeting card that is clean and simple.
Something that resembles the Christmas itself. Hence, the result is my final outcome for assignment 2.

Steps 1,2,3

Step 1

After opened Photoshop software, then i opened a pr
eset size that is A4. After that i used a square tool with the size of A3. Filled it with colour because i just want it to be contra so that i can tell the differences easier.

Step 2

I created a snow flakes using Adobe Illustrator to have a vector snowflake. Then i imported the image and placed it in the Photoshop on the file that I'm working on. I used the line tool to create the snowflake.

Step 3

I created another shape of snowflake using Illustrator and then import to Photoshop.
At the same time, i created another square and filled it with b
lue colour as the front page using the square tool.

Step 4

Using Illustrator (again) I then traced a picture of Santa Claus with his reindeer and colour them.

Step 5

After that I import the Santa to Photoshop and placed them on the front page of the greeting card. I then removed the access white coloured fill with magic eraser tool.

Step 6

I then created a Christmas Tree using the Illustrator. I used the brush tool to create the christmas tree shape. Then filled them up with the green colour. Then for the ornaments, i used the circle tool to create the circle shape as the ornaments and filled them with red colour.
For the tree topper which is the star, i used brush tool and drew them. Filled them with yellow.

Step 7

After that, i brought the tree to Photoshop and placed them into the front page of the greeting card. The access unwanted tree that i exceed the front page, i erased them with the rectangular marquee tool to highlight the place that i want to delete and then i used the eraser tool.

Step 8

I then gave the snowflakes a little effects on its layer. I gave it a outer glow and inner glow on its layer style.

Step 9

Returned to Illustrator to create the wording on the front page. I used the brush tool to create the font. I want it to look like a handwriting with the line connected to the letters it selves. That is why i used the tool brush. Then, i filled them with red colour and brought them to Photoshop again.

Step 10

Once in the Photoshop, i added outer glow for its layer style. I change the elements with the spread slider to 1% and the size 250px.

Step 11

After that i copied the snow flakes and change it's size using the free transform tool (control + t) and each of the snow flakes i edited the layer style and change its outer glow setting (the spread and the size). I copied by using duplicate layer.

Step 12

After I satisfied with the snowflakes placement. I then place the ornament that i traced using Illustrator and brought them into Photoshop. I placed the ornaments on the inside page of the greeting card. I lowered down the opacity so that people can write down their holiday wish there. I also changed the Christmas tree that i used earlier because one of
my friend said it look more livelier if i use this Christmas tree that i traced using the illustrator earlier.

Step 13

Last step, added a little white glitter star all around the Santa Claus and his Reindeer using the brush tool. As for the brush i chose number 70 that shape like a star. As for the tree, i also add a yellow glitter just to give the effect of the light reflection of the tree. I used the same brush tool (start shape no 70). Lastly, i added the wording just by adding the text layer.
I wrote " May you have a snowy jingling white Christmas". As this year theme is the white Christmas inspired by the white Christmas celebration held in One Utama now. :D

Thank You! :)
