Assignment 2 ( Greetings Card )

For this second assignment, I was thinking to do a greeting c
ard for the next holiday; which is Christmas! Why? Simple. The holiday is just around the corner. Hohoho..

IDEATION

For this assignment 2, I wanted to do a Christmas greeting card that is clean and simple.
Something that resembles the Christmas itself. Hence, the result is my final outcome for assignment 2.

Steps 1,2,3

Step 1

After opened Photoshop software, then i opened a pr
eset size that is A4. After that i used a square tool with the size of A3. Filled it with colour because i just want it to be contra so that i can tell the differences easier.

Step 2

I created a snow flakes using Adobe Illustrator to have a vector snowflake. Then i imported the image and placed it in the Photoshop on the file that I'm working on. I used the line tool to create the snowflake.

Step 3

I created another shape of snowflake using Illustrator and then import to Photoshop.
At the same time, i created another square and filled it with b
lue colour as the front page using the square tool.

Step 4

Using Illustrator (again) I then traced a picture of Santa Claus with his reindeer and colour them.

Step 5

After that I import the Santa to Photoshop and placed them on the front page of the greeting card. I then removed the access white coloured fill with magic eraser tool.

Step 6

I then created a Christmas Tree using the Illustrator. I used the brush tool to create the christmas tree shape. Then filled them up with the green colour. Then for the ornaments, i used the circle tool to create the circle shape as the ornaments and filled them with red colour.
For the tree topper which is the star, i used brush tool and drew them. Filled them with yellow.

Step 7

After that, i brought the tree to Photoshop and placed them into the front page of the greeting card. The access unwanted tree that i exceed the front page, i erased them with the rectangular marquee tool to highlight the place that i want to delete and then i used the eraser tool.

Step 8

I then gave the snowflakes a little effects on its layer. I gave it a outer glow and inner glow on its layer style.

Step 9

Returned to Illustrator to create the wording on the front page. I used the brush tool to create the font. I want it to look like a handwriting with the line connected to the letters it selves. That is why i used the tool brush. Then, i filled them with red colour and brought them to Photoshop again.

Step 10

Once in the Photoshop, i added outer glow for its layer style. I change the elements with the spread slider to 1% and the size 250px.

Step 11

After that i copied the snow flakes and change it's size using the free transform tool (control + t) and each of the snow flakes i edited the layer style and change its outer glow setting (the spread and the size). I copied by using duplicate layer.

Step 12

After I satisfied with the snowflakes placement. I then place the ornament that i traced using Illustrator and brought them into Photoshop. I placed the ornaments on the inside page of the greeting card. I lowered down the opacity so that people can write down their holiday wish there. I also changed the Christmas tree that i used earlier because one of
my friend said it look more livelier if i use this Christmas tree that i traced using the illustrator earlier.

Step 13

Last step, added a little white glitter star all around the Santa Claus and his Reindeer using the brush tool. As for the brush i chose number 70 that shape like a star. As for the tree, i also add a yellow glitter just to give the effect of the light reflection of the tree. I used the same brush tool (start shape no 70). Lastly, i added the wording just by adding the text layer.
I wrote " May you have a snowy jingling white Christmas". As this year theme is the white Christmas inspired by the white Christmas celebration held in One Utama now. :D

Thank You! :)

Assignment 1 (e-wallpaper)

This is the steps that I've done for my assignment 1 (e-wallpaper)

1. First step in making this e wallpaper is to set up the background first. For the background I used a crumple brown paper.

2. Then set the paper to fit the canvas by rotate the brown paper vertivally using the rotate tool.

3. Next, i lower down the opacity of the paper just to blend the paper nicely so it does not show the depth or the sharpness of the background itself.

4. After that. i took MMU logo. I removed the unwated background of the logo so that it will look nicer to place them in the e wallpaper.

5. I changed the colour and contrast for the logo so it will look a little bit more fit in with the colour concept that i want to use for the e wallpaper.I also adjusted the hue/saturation and the lightness.

6. Next I create a long box along the A4 size canvas filled with brown colour. Rotate the box with the free transformation tool (control+t). Rearranged it to balance with the logo.

7. I add on a Gradient Layer to give an impact look at the edge of the wallpaper.

8. Then i add a text or the title of this e wallpaper and that is the MMU FOM OPEN DAY.

9. After that, i take a MMU campus picture. Crop them using the lasso tool because i only want the STAD building to represent MMU. It is because the STAD building is the first building that you will find once you enter the MMU entrance.

10.Next, I change the Hue/saturation to make the picture look nicer. Then i add the cut out effect (Filter > Artistic> Cutout)

11.Then I drag the STAD building picture into the wallpaper.

12.After that i take the FOM building picture and i repeat the same process goes with the STAD building.

13.Then i add in E-bee. I removed the background of the picture by using the magic eraser tool and it does make magic. woot woot!

14.Dragged the picture into the e wallpaper. Arrangeg it nicely to fit the in the e wallpaper. I edit the layer style ( belnding style>layer style>blending options) by adding the drop shadow just to give some shadow effect with the change of its distance, spread and size.

15.Next, i add the post it paper to resemble FOM faculty of Management. Placed it at the rigth of the wallpaper and arranged the e-bee on top of the post it so it will look as if the e-bee is standing on top of the post it paper. Add the same process as the above to give the drop shadow effect.

16.I put in text on the post it paper and that is the venue and the date of the MMU FOM OPEN DAY. I placed it on the post it paper because i want to highlight the information so
the reader will notify immediately as the contrast of the colour of the post it paper and the concept colour of the wallpaper itself.

17.Created a few moore boxes to highlight or differentiate the informations that i want to put in the wallpaper.

18.Add in the text that provides the information of FOM. Added the drop shadow effect to the wordings also.

19.At the box, i add vector mask to give a stain effect at the box. I used brush tool to give the stained brush look.

20.Lastly, i added an adjustment layer. Changed the vibrance, hue/saturation and contrast just to enhance the colour of the wallpaper.
